But I really enjoyed the illustrations and definitely recommend it to kids.Twelve-year-old Pax Samson has a supersized legacy to live up to, but he often prefers a simpler life in the kitchen.Įveryone in the whole Samson family is a superhero, and Grandma is perhaps the world’s best. I loved the idea behind the book and the story and maybe I will pick up rest of the books in the series because I did not hate it. Superheroes taking up tasks to save the world and their people and also struggling with their life problems but thinking about others first, this is the plot that kids enjoy. If you are a teenager or maybe you want to narrate this story to your child or you want your child to read it then it is very good. I think I was just too old to read this book. That requires a lot of work and I appreciate it with my whole heart. I mean I loved the illustrations and I loved how the characters when shown from far away in the illustrations were also recognizable. But I was not that much invested in the story. The book is divided into small chapters that follow different adventures but all of them are tied together. Pax, determined to protect his family and friends, will do everything he can to stop the new threats set on disrupting the peace between humans and the Enchanted.

Tempted to hang up the superhero cape and stick to the kitchen, Pax faces the toughest decision yet when a legendary savior of the Enchanted people arrives, along with a startling discovery that there might be parts of the Soltellus history that are wrong. When the mad god Odin, long-time enemy to the Enchanted race and arch-rival to Grandma, resurfaces in another attempt to regain power, Pax will attempt to put his training into practice, but ends up just making things worse. She’s been doing it for hundreds of years, but she’s ready for the younger generation of Samsons, including Pax, to step up. Among them is the Samson family, led by the fearless and mighty Grandma Samson, the greatest superhero to ever live and the person responsible for always saving Soltellus when trouble strikes. As well as elves, orcs, dragons, sprites and other fantasy races known as the “Enchanted” all living in a modern society similar to our own.
